Embracing Change

Do different, be different, feel different.
Embrace the change that engulfs you.

For the first time in months, I wore a dress! It wasn’t really all that warm outside, but I had recently purchased this dress from a local consignment boutique and was going out to a cute coffee date with a friend of mine that I haven’t seen in a while. I had to look the part, of course.

The dress is also not a color scheme I’d be particularly attracted to (I’m not much of a person for dark blues; I’d rather just wear black), but I bought this dress with my mom and she picked it out for me to go with my new, darker hair color and recently tanned skin. Plaid is always in for the colder months, but this dress is a chiffon material that could be worn well into spring. It’s a feminine cut that flatters even a short person like me.

To offset the super feminine look of the dress, I layered an oversize cardigan in a bright complimentary red and some basic black converse sneakers to match my winter coat. I love looks like this that blend girl looks with sporty and casual vibes. If I had to describe my style in three words, it would probably be: Feminine, Classic, and a bit Sporty. This outfit pretty much includes all three!

However, the coolest detail of this whole outfit is the back of the dress! The criss-cross open back shows just enough skin to be sexy and girly.

Things have been changing a lot in my life. Instead of resisting it, I’ve ridden that wave of change. I changed my haircolor, my perfume, and am using a bronzer to give my skin a tan even in the winter. I bought and wore this dress to also be a part of the me that I’m changing into. So don’t be afraid to try something new, to change yourself, and don’t ever let anyone bring you down for the things you like or want to do.
